Course Overview:  “Report Writing” is designed to instruct officers in basics concepts of writing clear, concise, and professional reports.

Course Objectives:  This course is designed to train officers in basic concepts of report writing. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will have learned:

• The purpose of reports
• The benefits of reports
• How to take good notes
• How to organize reports
• Key requirements of a good report
• How to write and edit reports

This course was developed by the Minnesota Sheriffs’ Association in cooperation with the MSA Jail Standardized Training Committee. This course is eligible for two (2) hours of continuing education. MN POST 9053-00684
