Individual Success - Agency Effectiveness – Community Impact

Important:

    • After each portion of a course (lecture, discussion board and quiz) you need to click the green “Mark Complete” button to keep advancing. 
    • Your time in each course is being recorded by a system called SCORM.  Reports are available to administrators to verify your complete participation.
    • Click here to access your profile to verify your first and last name as well as your POST license number. If any of these items are blank or incorrect, make changes and then update the page to save.   If you number is not in the system, your credits will NOT be sent to POST.
    • POST Credits are sent to POST monthly, typically the first week of the month for the previous month.   Please verify your records on the POST website.  Contact Ann if your credits through MNLET haven’t shown up.

MSA Updates: 

 New POST Numbers for ICLD Courses

Starting September 1st there will be new POST numbers for the ICLD Leadership courses.  Courses taken through August 31, 2022 are not affected.

The ICLD courses that fulfill the mandates (see list below) will require further documentation for POST and the new number will not be available until final approval comes through.

If you are licensed, we ask that you wait until the new POST numbers are approved and refrain from taking these courses, especially do not take the exam.   We will post a notice on MNLET.

Course Objective and Goals:
The objective of this course is to gain an introductory understanding of Minnesota Animal Welfare Laws.  After attending this course, the student will be cognizant of the following:

 

  1. Minnesota Animal Welfare laws
  2. Types of animal neglect and cruelty
  3. Professional roles involved in animal cruelty investigations
  4. Resources available to assist with animal welfare cases

Mental Health CIT Courses

The completion of each module will lead to its own certificate.  There will be a series of 20 eLearning modules to complement the in person training through MN CIT. The modules will be added as they become available.

We are pleased to announce the completion of the first ten courses in a series of 20 modules (24 hours total) for first responders providing information and training on how to handle a person in a mental health crisis safely and compassionately.  These courses were made in partnership with MSA, IAPS, MN CIT and South Dakota CIT.  They are currently free for the Minnesota Sheriffs’ Association on the MNLET eLearning platform through 2022. Upon completion of the 20 eLearning courses (24 hours), learners will have the opportunity to participate (for a fee) in a 16 hour in person scenario based training to complete their 40-hour CIT certification.

The learning objectives in this series of courses are:

  • Understanding of major and severe forms of mental illness
  • Develop a practical assessment plan working with people in crisis
  • Learning specific intervention techniques for working with people in crisis
