Overview: Part 1 of this training is focused on the basics of child development and how adversity and trauma can disrupt optimal child development.
Objectives: Part 1 has four training objectives:
- Review key data on parents in Minnesota jails.
- Summarize key developmental tasks or milestones of children and adolescents.
- Define Adverse Childhood Experiences.
- Apply this framework to consider how parental incarceration and other adversities disrupt healthy child development.
