Module Overview

This module gives students a comprehensive look at Adaptive Leadership and why it is so important to law enforcement leaders.  In today’s fluid, ever-changing environment leaders must be ready to adapt to situations as they arise.  Adaptive leadership is the key to making key decisions based on the best information available, particularly in emergent situations.  This module provides students with concepts and practices for utilizing adaptive leadership techniques in their professional lives.

Module Objectives

Upon successful completion of this module students should be able to:

  • Identify the characteristics of an Adaptive Leader.
  • Describe Adaptive Leadership.
  • Understand how to become an Adaptive Leader.

The Minnesota Sheriffs’ Association is a continuing education sponsor as approved by the Board of Peace Officer Standards and Training. This course, Adaptive Leadership 09053-00650, has been approved by the POST Board for continuing education credit. Peace officers who successfully complete this course will receive two (2) hours of continuing education.
