Module Overview

This module focuses on Generations and the variety of them we now have in the workplace, as well as, within the communities that we serve.  It is imperative for true leadership success that we are familiar with the different generations and understand how they think, their motivations and their work habits.  You may be surprised by the diverse thought processes that each generation possesses.

Module Objectives

Upon successful completion of this module student should be able to:

  • Understand each generation’s type and how to distinguish them.
  • Understand how different generations think, act and behave themselves at work and at home.
  • Understand the issues involved in hiring and dealing with different generations.

The Minnesota Sheriffs’ Association is a continuing education sponsor as approved by the Board of Peace Officer Standards and Training. This course, Generations 09053-00638, has been approved by the POST Board for continuing education credit. Peace officers who successfully complete this course will receive two (2) hours of continuing education.

This course is approved for two (2) hours under the mandated category of Community and Cultural Diversity and Implicit Bias.
